Meet the Team: Cynthia Botton
At Labellov, every piece has a story — and so do the people behind it. With our Meet the Team series, we’re taking you behind the scenes to meet with the experts who curate, authenticate, and shape the world of Labellov.
We’re starting with Cynthia Botton, co-owner and brand expert, whose eye for timeless luxury and deep understanding of craftsmanship define much of what you see on our site. From her international journey to her passion for iconic houses like Hermès and Chanel, Cynthia brings both expertise and intuition to every piece she selects.
In this first episode, discover her story, her perspective on pre-loved luxury, and the details she believes truly make a piece exceptional.
1. Introduce yourself in a few words
I’m Cynthia Botton, co-owner and brand expert at Labellov. Originally from Peru, I’ve lived across several European cities before making Belgium my home. I’m also a proud mother of two daughters.
This journey has shaped a deep appreciation for timeless luxury — where craftsmanship, quality, and storytelling come together. It’s a passion I bring into everything I do at Labellov.
2. What drew you to the world of luxury fashion and to Labellov?
Luxury has always fascinated me for its craftsmanship, heritage, timeless character, and storytelling. With Labellov, I saw the opportunity to combine that passion with a more conscious way of consuming — making luxury both relevant and accessible today.
3. What’s the most exciting part of your role behind the scenes?
Finding exceptional pieces and giving them a second life — knowing they will be loved again, but also ensuring every item meets our standards before it reaches her new owner.
4. What do clients often not realize about authentication or curation?
How much detail and expertise it requires — from materials and stitching to the history behind each piece — and how selective we need to be to maintain both trust and quality.
5. Do you remember the first luxury piece that truly impressed you? What was it?
A Hermès Birkin Faubourg — the precision, the mix of materials, and the level of detail make it a true masterpiece of craftsmanship.
6. What details do you personally always look for when evaluating a piece?
I focus on materials, craftsmanship, condition, and authenticity details — but equally on the overall presence of the piece: its timelessness and market trends.
7. What’s one misconception about pre-loved luxury you’d love to change?
That pre-loved means “second best” - when In reality, pre-loved luxury often offers rare, discontinued, or even better-quality pieces than what is available today.
8. Which brands or pieces do you feel are truly timeless and why?
Hermès (Brikin, Kelly, Contance) – Why?: No logos, pure design, extreme craftsmanship. These aren’t “bags of the moment”—they’re design archetypes.
Chanel (Classic Flap, 2.55 Reissue ) – Why?: Recognizable but not loud, pieces that probably are the most universally wearable timeless bag for different generations.
Louis Vuitton classics ( Speedy, Keepall and Classic Trunks). Why?: Monogram canvas is basically unchanged, built for travel and ages well with nice patina which is part of its ppeal.
9. A recent find you were especially excited about?
A Hermès Kelly Sellier 28 in Box leather with gold hardware—one of those rare finds where the condition, structure, and leather quality all align. It’s getting harder to come across pieces like this in our days .
10. How would you describe your personal style in three words?
Timeless, understated, effortless.
11. If you could give one piece of advice to someone investing in luxury, what would it be?
Buy with intention — choose pieces you truly like and love, but also consider their longevity, condition, and resale value.
12. What does “luxury” mean to you today?
Luxury today is not just about price — it’s about quality, authenticity, sustainability, and owning pieces that carry meaning and last over time.
13. A favorite quote or philosophy you live by?
There is no substitute for hard work, resilience, and dedication.
